hello there/ just bootstrapped an i2pd floodfill node but couldn't find more info about some stuff: bandwidth config is per tunnel? so to calculate the theoretical maximum of │
nyoom
oh dammit
orignal
there is no such thing
orignal
bandwidth is always for whole router
orignal
not per tunnel
nyoom
thanks! I see, that makes a lot more sense
orignal
well it's being discuseed to limit per transit tunnel
orignal
but not implemneted yet
nyoom
in that case, what would a sane configuration look like for decent machine with bwidth to spare? Currently bandwidth=P with 80% share and slightly reduced tunnels to 4000 (so 8k because of f ..?)
orignal
4000 is too small
nyoom
yeah I was afraid it was multiplicative so reduced it
orignal
for P it should be like 15-20K on floodfill
nyoom
alr will try 15k
orignal
Transit Tunnels: 15771
orignal
currently on 'P'
orignal
the limit is 50K
nyoom
how does 'share' % come into this? currently I understand it as how much bandwith to reserve for the network itself vs transit "user" data
orignal
don't use it at all
nyoom
alr will comment it out
nyoom
thanks!
orignal
always use bandwidth=
orignal
share only if you own traffic is too high
orignal
e.g. as much as transit
orignal
and own traffic usually if much lower on ordinary router
nyoom
so it's "local vs remotes" ie me vs others
orignal
yes, your traffic vs. transit traffic

are streams distributed between the tunnels (i.e. packets shared) or does it pick one until it expires?
ardu
from my testing, it looks like the later. I've tested with profile=1 and profile=2, both seem to have the same result. I wasn't sure if there was a way to distribute the packets or if I just wasn't reading the tunnel data correctly.
