network conditions are volatile from one day to the next. if you're a low bandwidth share router and you increase your shared bandwidth, it may take several days for the network to adjust, vis-a-vis your router.

generally speaking, the more you share, the better the performance of your router is in relation to your local tunnels.

no. the more bandwidth you share, the better for your router, generally.

bandwidth allocated to your local tunnels will always take precedence over participating traffic.

the other way of managing bandwidth is to set your share at whatever your isp allocates, and limit the number of participating tunnels your router will handle.

if your router's functioning ok, then I wouldn't worry about ratios. If you're much more than 2K integrated/floodfills, then the network's probably under attack.
