dr|z3d, : In i2psnark in details of a torrent before downloading it there is the feature in details to not download certain file(s) of a torrent. Is it possible to have the select buttom for the "Do not downoad this file" to a checkbox? Maybe even select all or inverse selection? In the case of just wanting to download a couple or one file of the whole torrent.
dr|z3d
should be there, uop23ip
dr|z3d
the select all, or select none feature is something I need to reimplement.
dr|z3d
(because the status of individual files should update there if you leave the page open while downloading).
uop23ip
do you mean there is a html checkbox to "do not download this file"? I got html radio for high/low priority and "do not download..."
dr|z3d
you've got 3 options, high priority, low priority, and no thanks, no?
uop23ip
yes
dr|z3d
so what's the problem?
RN
allocating the whole torrent disk space when you only want one file perhaps?
RN
I vaugely rmember something about pre-allocation setting
RN
turn off the optioni "auto start torrents" if you want to poke around before it starts allocating perhaps?
dr|z3d
I'm not entirely sure that's what uop23ip's asking about, but it's maybe related if pre-allocation _is_ part of the issue.
uop23ip
no i just have to think about my question... :)
dr|z3d
to prevent pre-allocation of files, you can configure i2psnark.preallocateFiles=false in i2psnark.config
dr|z3d
at least in +, not sure that's available in canon.
RN
I don't see an.... right... adv config... maybe that option is in line with what uop23ip is asking
dr|z3d
no, I think he wants the option to not download files before the torrent has started, or while it's stopped.
RN
right, turning off autostart should be good cuz then they can look at the metadata stuff and set files to not dl...
RN
or maybe they're thinking of an option to always skip *.nfo files or such
RN
musta gone afk
dr|z3d
I can't remember offhand if we present the priority options when the torrent is stopped. that's the nub.
RN
but you wouldn't be able to use a magnet then?
RN
oh
RN
so no-preallocate adv conf if on plus, I don't see it in my Canon (though that doesn't mean Canon would ignore if added...)
RN
and you don't recall if that is upstream or something you added?
dr|z3d
I think I may had added it.
RN
*** chuckles ***
dr|z3d
git grep preallocateFiles
dr|z3d
you've got the git repo there, no?
RN
blank response
RN
*** tries s/preallocateFiles/tunnel/ and gets many results ***
RN
ok, so I did that right
RN
so unless you renamed the thing, then yeah you added
RN
and I litteraly just updated my i2p.i2p today... LOL
uop23ip
so an inverse or select all is possible with 3 radio option? I think i just a stuck-mind ind problem to imagine it without a checkbox :)
dr|z3d
no, not possible.
RN
oh you want to make the selections all at once
dr|z3d
like I said, that feature need to be re-implemented.
dr|z3d
each file currently needs to be excluded individually.
uop23ip
for a couple of files to download, i would select them nottodown for them and then reverse the selection. To only download those.
dr|z3d
sure, I understand the mechanism. it's been on the TODO list for a while. maybe you bringing it up will expedite a fix :)
RN
:)
dr|z3d
canon has that feature, I disabled it as a temporary measure because, unlike canon, in + the file listings are updated while files are downloading, so I need to implement persistence when the table is refreshed.
dr|z3d
not difficult, just something that I forgot about fixing.
uop23ip
:), it is a nice feature, maybe ith potential. Like RN mentioned smarter it could also be used to just download the metadata for preview or info.
dr|z3d
if you don't want the files pre-allocated, the config I mentioned above will prevent that.
dr|z3d
that's essentially the same as "just the metadata".
uop23ip
for sure helpful, thanks. I thought more like the things on postman like the description as txt and images cover/screenshots, preview. Like an added button to the right start/remove/delete, named preview :). Clicking on it would only select/start nfo, txt, jpg of torrent-root to download.
uop23ip
sorry for the ping pm
dr|z3d
that sounds like it would introduce more complexity than we really want.
uop23ip
ok, and i can select those files by hand for a preview so np. Would just be more comfortable :)
dr|z3d
I can work on the toggle select all / none feature, the rest is a bit too vague and complex.
uop23ip
that's nice, thanks. that feature alone is useful
dr|z3d
ok, no promises, but I may also put the file allocation toggle in the UI in the configs section. will think about it.
cumlord
might be a known thing but if you give i2p+ snark standalones the tunnel count on the embedded one shows their values
dr|z3d
you have zzz to thank for that, should work the same in embedded.
zzz
lol iirc all I did to help was some vague handwaving but ok
dr|z3d
I think cumlord's referring to the dropdown, might be wrong.
cumlord
what was i doing lol
dr|z3d
<cumlord> might be a known thing but if you give i2p+ snark standalones the tunnel count on the embedded one shows their values
dr|z3d
were you referring to the dropdown or the tunnel count indicators in the main view?
cumlord
the tunnel counts on the bottom of embedded, that one is set to 16/16, but if you have other snark standalones going through the same router it seems to pull tunnel counts from those
cumlord
yes not the dropdown
dr|z3d
sure, if it can see a router, it should be able to pull the tunnel info, haven't changed anything other than added zzz's code to display the correct tunnel count on the dropdown.
dr|z3d
haven't yet done the tunnel count code that doesn't rely on pulling the info from /configtunnels, which is the handwaving zzz was referring to.
dr|z3d
either way, handy that it shows you something for standalone.
dr|z3d
whether it's showing you what you want or expect to see is another matter :)
cumlord
it is kinda handy, i might not know which snark instance it's giving me but you get some info from that lol
dr|z3d
well, in theory it should be showing you the primary instance, because additional instances will be named slightly differently on /configtunnels
cumlord
i think it might be showing me the most recent
dr|z3d
I'll have another stab at a more robust readout next dev cycle.
cumlord
well i also stopped/started the primary instance independent of the router so maybe it doesn't like that
dr|z3d
after the previous dev cycle which was pretty intense, I decided to mostly coast for this one.
dr|z3d
not to totally sit on my hands, though, we're not that far off 40K images on wall.i2p
cumlord
not a major thing thought it was kinda funny when i noticed it lol, didn't see it before since usually would run the standalones through i2pd
cumlord
yeah seemed like a lot was going on you deserve a break
dr|z3d
you should be able to work out what the count corresponds to if you look at the dropdowns for snark on /configtunnels
