StormyCloud drop.i2p has received several updates and new features check it out!
not_bob_afk StormyCloud: I did a blurb on my site about drop.i2p
mareki2p Hi original I have this in the i2pd web interface, it is related to my snark standalone (non-plus). Is this expected? Is this bug in i2pd. Is this bug in snark? Screenshot here: drop.i2p/uploads/e19dbfc0b954491e988548d47400e8b6.webp
T3s|4 StormyCloud: thanks for your efforts on drop.i2p :D
StormyCloud *salute* always happy to help
StormyCloud mareki2p they just have a really unique b32 address :P
mareki2p Yeah, SHA-256 does not work like that. Maybe some kind of placeholder?
mareki2p Oh yeah, it is bunch of zeros base32 encoded as bunch of letters a.
not_bob_afk The irony is that the aaaaaaaaaa...b32.i2p must be random. Odd though.
snex its probably not hard to crack the private key that generates all 0s for a b32
not_bob_afk I disagree.
not_bob_afk It should be just as hard.
not_bob_afk When you brute force a b32 what you are really doing is generating b64s and then hashing them for the b32. It's a one way hash and there is no way to predict the outcome unless you do it.
snex its one-way in general but i would bet there are certain special values that can be easily reverse engineered just based on how the math works
snex im not confident on that but it seems like it could work that way
not_bob_afk I do not think so.
snex it happened with md5 but the internet says so far it hasnt happened with sha256
zzz no, it's not random, it means somebody has a bug somewhere
zzz which is why on java router we ban the all zeros hash, you'll see it at the top on the banlist tab
orignal not_bob_afk aaaaa...b32.i2p means that NS was received and NSR was never sent back
orignal because nothing to send
orignal what I need to do to set it upon receiving LS
orignal zzz, there is no "all-zero hash" we just don't know remote dest yet
zzz ok, just a UI thing
snex i feel bad for the lucky guy who actually rolls that b32
orignal right
orignal it's just incomlete session
orignal again I will make a change to take it from LS
orignal that MUST come with NS
orignal otherwise no chance to reply
zzz we also ban the hash of 387 zeroes because seen that out there too
orignal parsing LS will fail
orignal in this case
zzz think I saw it in a RI, not LS, but can't remember
orignal I check it when process identity
orignal last post
orignal either he got drafted or pigs came after him
zzz oh noes
zzz sure but wish it didnt happen to the good guys ((
orignal good guys from bad country
