as long as no tunnel switch flag in I2CP it will keep disconnecting
dr|z3d
proposal, orignal :)
onon_
You need it more than i2pd
onon_
i2pd works stably without it.
orignal
exactly
orignal
it's Java's problem
orignal
why is it my business?
wew
why does blocklist bans appear at /profiles?f=3 even though router.blocklist.enable and router.blocklistTor.enable set to false ?
dr|z3d
not sure you want to disable blocklists, but if you do, you'll need to restart.
wew
dr|z3d already did multiple times since disabling because of updates
dr|z3d
ok
dr|z3d
let's see if we can tighten up the logic there.
dr|z3d
ok, wew, if you disabled all blocklists in the latest build about to land, you should only see 2 entries for invalid hashes.
dr|z3d
ETA 3m or so.
dr|z3d
note that disabling all blocklists also disables any country-level blocks if you're running in hidden mode.
dr|z3d
I'm not sure we want that, maybe country blocks should be separate, but for now, enable=false prevents any blocks.
dr|z3d
Blinded message
dr|z3d
yeah, I think I'm going to separate the logic for hidden more or if you're blocking specific countries so it's indepdendent of blocklist.enable
dr|z3d
you may still accrue session bans, haven't fully reviewed all possible places where that could happen yet.
dr|z3d
yeah, session bans stil apply, because blocklist != banlist.
Over
cumlord: from a technical point of view, can you get a destination (.b32.i2p) from a leaseset you've found?
dr|z3d
By definition a leaseset will include a b32 unless blinded.
Over
Could the leasesets be used then to build a search engine then? If many routers contribute, you could likely get a good view of everything there's on I2P.
dr|z3d
If you're asking if sniffing your netdb for b32s could be the start of a more extensive map of sites on the network, then, sure.
dr|z3d
ask not_bob_afk or cumlord nicely, they may decide to publish a sanitized list of b32s hosting web content.
Over
I'm not a dev. I was thinking more about the couple of search engines that are already available.
Over
Some of them are yacy instances. If there was a way to use something similar where everyone shares their crawl, it would allow for more results.
dr|z3d
sure, I'm saying that if a list of b32s is published, then search engines may pick those up and index.
dr|z3d
that is, assuming the search engine in question indexes b32s, not sure they all do.
Over
Legwork works well for me. Which is strange as yacy sucked and it felt the results weren't even connected to my query.
Over
when I tried it a couple of years ago.
not_bob
dr|z3d: My current list is about 4000 hosts.
dr|z3d
web hosts?
not_bob
http hosts.
not_bob
Yes
dr|z3d
have you filtered out the nasties?
not_bob
Yep
dr|z3d
publish it then :)
not_bob
I've found less than a dozen of those btw.
dr|z3d
good to hear we're not at parity with Tor.
not_bob
Agreed.
not_bob
And I have them all sorted out by catagory as well ;)
dr|z3d
oh, you do? good boy *pat pat* .. get that list up there nowski! :)
not_bob
hahaha, soon enough. Not today though. I need to drive about 500 miles today.
dr|z3d
great, look forward to it.
dr|z3d
ok, updates to reseeding, hopefully no more spurious reseeds.
dr|z3d
This one, potentially dodgy: Qq6tgAQqqHsw9wwrymhem6Nwrhuj~BnAoPiZQdZnCxk= Looks like it might be trying dos.
uop23ip
dr|z3d, Before i updated to the now latest i had disabled reseed and enabled explorewhileff. idk if this is the reason, but i had 7k leasesets, which i never had before ever. But you mentioned the possibility of an ongoing attack, so no clue. Could you make the netdb?l=1 showing only n leasesets per page, with the 7k i experienced that the page loads very slow. Didn't find a setting for that.
wew
uop23ip it was fixed
wew
try to update
uop23ip
wew, you mean about the high number of leassets?
wew
yep
uop23ip
ok done. and my router has been reseeding again after an hour, like before. will put disablereseed again in config
dr|z3d
that may also be fixed, undisable and try the update.
uop23ip
that was the latest
uop23ip
in general: after a reseed should my leasseet numbers go up?
dr|z3d
no
dr|z3d
after a reseed your known peers should be higher.
uop23ip
following happened after latest restart with disabledreseed:
uop23ip
after the restart it got low 30s ls number and complain about it (and my disabledreseed)
uop23ip
"Only 3X peers remaining but reseed disabled by configuration"
dr|z3d
do NOT disable reseeding.
uop23ip
Does that mean i have to do a reseed after every restart despite a time frame of 15min or so?
dr|z3d
no, like I said, the reseed issue should be fixed now. as long as you have >100 known peers (possibly RIs stored on disk) after 10m of uptime you should be fine.
uop23ip
the note on the sidebar changes numbers different than netdb?l=1 now it complains about only 14 peers while my numbers on netdb?l=1 show more than 100
dr|z3d
peers != leasesets.
uop23ip
where he got the 14 of? all known 7k, ff 1.5k....
dr|z3d
there is no direct relationship between the number of local, remote leasesets and the number of known peers. ?l= is leasesets.
dr|z3d
?f=1 is all known routers
uop23ip
7k+ and the sidebar now complains about "only 59 peers remaining..."
uop23ip
peers != leasesets got it. i think i was confused as somebody told that under 100 leasesets would trigger a reseed.
dr|z3d
under 100 known peers, not leasesets. but make sure you have a few hundred peers at least, enable reseed, then restart router. shouldn't cause another reseed. pay attention to known peers immediately after restart, they're the ones that have been saved to disk, slower/older ones are stored in memory only.
uop23ip
ok thanks will look for. sidebar says now 3 peers remaining :)
dr|z3d
do a manual reseed.
uop23ip
now while running you mean?
dr|z3d
yeah, be in control. are you running in hidden mode?
dr|z3d
there's definitely something not quite normal there, after a few hours of uptime you should have several hundred known peers minimum, for non-firewalled ffs, several thousand.
uop23ip
after manually reseed:
uop23ip
Acquired 100 router infos from reseed hosts
uop23ip
Only 6 peers remaining but reseed disabled by configuration
uop23ip
now 5 peers...
uop23ip
something is wrong with the numbers
dr|z3d
which part of turn off the disable reseed config didn't I communicate correctly?
uop23ip
doesn't it need a restart?
dr|z3d
not sure, maybe, maybe not. if you remove that key from your configs and then try a reseed again, you'll soon know.
uop23ip
ok. thought you would like to see if a manual reseed hadd any influence on the sidebar peer number
dr|z3d
yeah, that's the idea. but if after deleting the disable reseed key from your configs you still get the error, then you'll need to restart.
uop23ip
can't find it in the ui advconf, so i have to edit router.config. does the router accept editing while running?
dr|z3d
should be able to filter for it.
dr|z3d
and yes, you can edit router.config while running, updates to that file will take up to a minute to register.
uop23ip
ok. edited and waiting
uop23ip
ok nothing changed, notifications sidebar now complains about 32 peers remaining :) will do a restart
uop23ip
wtf, now contacting for reseed
uop23ip
didn't do restart. so needs more than a minute
uop23ip
notification sidebar is gone.
dr|z3d
how many known peers/routers?
uop23ip
4k+
dr|z3d
plenty then. and what about in ~/.i2p/netDb/ .. how many .dat files in there?
dr|z3d
find /home/i2p/.i2p/netDb/ -name *.dat |wc -l
dr|z3d
or similar.
uop23ip
over 600+ for all files
dr|z3d
just dat files? if so, that's plenty.
dr|z3d
assuming that's the case, a restart should in theory no longer cause a reseed,
uop23ip
yes 600+ dat files
uop23ip
we will see :)
dr|z3d
ok, good.
